Two halves of the same problem. The library is what has already been cleared and catalogued. The sourcing register is where the gaps are tracked and where every candidate found so far is recorded with its licence.

Image library

10,652 images

The searchable library of ultrasound images cleared for use across the brand. Filter by topic, pull anything into a listing, a card or a blog post. New uploads through the Content Studio land here already tagged.

  • Search and filter by topic and body area
  • Licence status carried on every record
  • Auto tagging on anything imported through the studio

Sourcing register

836 open gaps

The running record of where a commercially usable image has been found for each topic, and where one still has not. 1,921 topics, 3,816 candidates across 1,371 source pages, each carrying its exact licence and the attribution string it must ship with.

  • Five queues: needs a pick, gaps, audit queue, figure located
  • 822 candidates carry a locator, of which 7 are image files and the rest point at the article page
  • Gap pages open pre-filtered searches on Commons, Europe PMC and UOTW
The rule that governs both. Only licences that permit commercial use and modification are usable, because the material is sold. That excludes the repositories most sonography teaching material lives in, which is why the sourcing register exists as its own surface rather than a note at the end of a document.
